People are often interested in art - from paintings to poetry. Writing is a medium which involves expression in a unique and fascinating way. The Sam/Daniel fandom is very priviledged to have some of the best fan-fic writers in Stargate, and here's your way to get to know them!

This page is to let you into the world of the fan-fic writers, who entertain and enthrall, and, through their art, provide us with emotional and beautiful pieces of work.

(NB The reasons some people have answered more questions that others is because they just can't follow instructions!! Jack O'Neill Fever is spreading!)

Favourite Stargate episode and why?: Hathor. Girl Power Plain and simple <G>

Favourite quote: "Welcome to My Life!" Sam - Exodus

Why did you become a Sam/Daniel shipper: I'm more of a friendshipper than a romantic shipper but...I've always loved the 'separated at birth' image of the two. They can have some of the best interplays, like in COTG and then again in Serpents Venom.

'It's green. Green is good?'

'No.'

'Bad?'

'Yeah.'

'How bad.'

'Very bad.'

'DAD!'

How did you get into fan-fic writing: I literally stumbled across Heliopolis one day and started to read. And as I read I noticed a distinct lack of Sam centric fic so...I set out to write some.

Craziest thing you’ve done in the name of Stargate: Run off to Canada for Gatecon. Which I had so much fun at, I'm doing again.

Jack O’Neill or Daniel Jackson: Jack O'Neill baby <G>

Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson: RDA totally. Kurt Russell is a babe but...I watched him on Disney movies....and I LOVE RDA's sense of humor

Your personal motto/slogan/defining words: umm...well...this is where I'm supposed to come up with something profound, right? <G> Nothing comes to mind, let's do it.

Favourite quote: Hathor is a queen. No, she is more than that... she is a goddess!

Why did you become a Sam/Daniel shipper: Reading Demon Faith's Charlie series

How did you get into fan-fic writing: At a Guide camp, talking to VampieGirl and Nephthys

Craziest thing you’ve done in the name of Stargate: Phoned Radio 1, and tried to win a competition for it!

Jack O’Neill or Daniel Jackson: JACK O'NEILL!

Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson: RDA!!! Most def!

Your personal motto/slogan/defining words: Ididin'tdoitnobodysawmedoityoucan'tproveanything

Favourite Stargate episode and why?: Forever in a Day. I think it's a sensational performance from Michael Shanks, the way that the whole episode is centred around his character and what he's going through. His anger towards  Teal'c, his reaction to seeing Sha're's body, the scene where he's talking to Sam about how amazed she was when he showed her the pen, the ending....kills me every time!

Favourite quote: "It's nice to know you don't just like me for my looks."

Why did you become a Sam/Daniel shipper: The quote above didn't give itaway? Seriously, friends had been telling me about this wonderful show that I had to look at. And I'd seen the film and liked it, but the series eluded me for quite a while. Then one day, I was watching Sky One, with nothing better to do, and caught the re-run of Holiday. And I didn't know anything about the characters, or their relationships, and I saw the scene between Sam and Daniel in the infirmary and thought that they were together. My reaction when he starting talking to Machello about how he was going to find Sha're was one of whiplash. But by then it was too late, I was hooked on the show, and on Sam/Daniel. Went online that night, began looking for fic and haven't looked back since.

How did you get into fan-fic writing: I've written fanfic, either on paper or in my head, long before the internet came along and legitimized my obsession. It's been a life long thing for me, and I'm thrilled to find people who write it too!

Craziest thing you've done in the name of Stargate: I think sitting in the queue at Wolf SG4 plotting out a "Josh and Donna from the West Wing go to a Stargate SG1 con" fic with Mel would take the prize there.

Jack O'Neill or Daniel Jackson: Daniel!

James Spader or Michael Shanks: Michael!

Your personal motto/slogan/defining words: Can I have two? The first would probably be "Helsinki Baby!!!!" The second ...something that was sent on a funny email to me, but there's many a true word spoken in jest - "There is a very fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness" " If you look very carefully, you can see it behind me.

Favourite Stargate episode and why?: Menace because I love the Replicators and I liked Reese. And the ending was just... so sad. I cried!

Favourite quote: "Damnit Daniel..." In how many ways you can say it. Calmly, yelling, or anything like that.

Why did you become a Sam/Daniel shipper: I don't know really. Sam and Daniel are really close friends and I guess... I was reading some other peoples stuff and then I became one I guess. I'm a shipper of many sorts, Sam/Daniel, Jack/Sam, Daniel/Janet, Jack/Janet, Sam/Martouf, Sam/Narim, Sam/Joe, Daniel/Sha're, Daniel/Sarah(Gardener), Jack/Sarah(ex-O'Neill), Jack/Sarah(Gardener), Martouf/Jolinar, Lantash/Jolinar, Lantash/Sam, Jack/Sha're, and I made up some Daniel/Other ones too and Jack/Other and Sam/Other. No way am I a slash person. I just like the usual, un-explict male/female relationship stuff. But I like a lot of fan fiction too so...

How did you get into fan-fic writing: I'm nuts thats why. Crazy, psycho, wacko, three fries short of a happy meal, not the brightest crayon in the box, not the brightest color of the rainbow, not the sharpest tool in the drawer, a mental case stuff like that. And, also because I love writing stories, even though they are all stupid! I'm obsessed with Stargate too so, that contributes to it I guess.

Craziest thing you’ve done in the name of Stargate: Oh my... not sure really... Done quiet a few things... don't really wanna say...

Jack O’Neill or Daniel Jackson: Oh... I love both! Jeez... Can't decide between them all.

Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson: Richard Dean Anderson

James Spader or Michael Shanks: Michael Shanks (Miss Danny... But the show must go on...)

Your personal motto/slogan/defining words: Be happy while you can... you never know when the bad times are coming around the corner...

Favourite Stargate episode and why?: The Curse. Do you really have to ask why??? ;)

Favourite quote: Too difficult to pick one from the show. Fav quote: "Happiness is like a butterfly - the more you chase it the more it eludes you, but if you turn your mind to other things it comes to rest softly on your shoulder

Why did you become a Sam/Daniel shipper: Because Sam and Jack was too obvious and contrived.

How did you get into fan-fic writing: A friend got me reading Buffy fic, and seeing as I loved Stargate I looked it up - the rest is history!! :)

Craziest thing you’ve done in the name of Stargate: Asked a (male) teacher at school for another word for material while writing an NC-17 scene on a laptop in front of him. Although looking up the word turgid in the thesaurus was fun to - that was in my study group. Needless to say, we couldn't stop laughing and the teacher came to investigate - NOT good!

Jack O’Neill or Daniel Jackson: Too easy. Daniel Jackson

Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson: I know I'm not supposed to answer this, but RDA hands down.

James Spader or Michael Shanks: I like them both, but Michael has had a lot more time to develop the character, which is why I choose him. And there's the fact that he's kind of GORGEOUS. Although have you SEEN Supernova? A must for any James Spader fan, unless nudity bothers you. :)

Your personal motto/slogan/defining words: I try not to define my life - no words of wisdom here!

Favourite Stargate episode and why?: I don't really have one favourite. I like Holiday because of the incredible acting. I think Season Three is the best Season - amazing television. Also, for some reason, the storyline in 2010 really blew me away

Favourite quote: Eeek. Um, the shippy ones like "It's nice to know you don't just like me
for my looks" (Daniel - Holiday) and "It's....you! *Definitely* you." (Daniel - Emancipation. Okay that's not that shippy, but it's funny!) Jack's sarcasm is funny. Erm, "Maktow Oz Kree!" (Daniel - Tangent). Also, quite a few Daniel quotes (and expressions) from Seasons Four and Five - Daniel was hilarious when Michael Shanks was bored.

Why did you become a Sam/Daniel shipper: It was the first pairing I saw. As I got hooked on the show, I thought they would make the best couple.

How did you get into fan-fic writing: Beth's fault. I was happily reading her fic when she abducted me and made me write.

Craziest thing you’ve done in the name of Stargate: Lame stuff really. Gone to a Stargate convention and spent £150 in one hour. Turned my favourite Denim Jacket into a fandom jacket (with patches). Another Convention, where I cried a lot. I'm thinking my craziest time will come at SG5 tho, or at least en route there and back.

Jack O’Neill or Daniel Jackson: Pah! Daniel Jackson!

Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson: I'm answering anyway! Kurt Russell, because he's an amazing actor who can play pretty much any role. As for which version of Jack I prefer, RDA's because, well, he's very funny! But they're almost not the same character really.

James Spader or Michael Shanks: Michael Shanks. I actually like James Spader, but he has made some strange role choices! (Still can't quite get over Crash...) Oh, and I'm a huge
Michael Shanks fan - can't believe how good an actor that guy is. Comes across as a nice guy in RL too.

Your personal motto/slogan/defining words: Yikes, er, "Equality" is a big thing for me. Respect is another. I like the Gladiator quote: "What we do in Life, Echoes in Eternity"

"Treat others as you wish to be treated" should be remembered more often.

Favourite Stargate episode and why?: Singularity it was the first one I saw and the Daniel/Sam dynamic was just lovely

Favourite quote: Teal'c: "I have read of a place where humans do battle in a ring of jell-o." -- Ascension

Why did you become a Sam/Daniel shipper: Erm I don't think that I did, in that I was surprised to find it wasn't part of the show. I did spend several hours moaning at the TV 'but they're sooooo right!'

How did you get into fan-fic writing: way back when I was young and impressionable I wandered into Gossamer, the x files archive. It was a very steep slide from there

Craziest thing you’ve done in the name of Stargate: Hmm I think the whole NAM concept was one of the better ones, as was mailing tapes across the country and the atlantic. Scaring numerous shop assistants and nearly leaving a shop with a cut out (scifi fans should never shop drunk)

Jack O’Neill or Daniel Jackson: Daniel

James Spader or Michael Shanks: Michael

Your personal motto/slogan/defining words: 'Nurse, she's out of bed again!' or the slogan I handed over to the Captain Doctor awards 'grasping at straws in a hurricane'.
